It was a repeat of last year’s results when the curtains came down on the ISSA Rural Area netball season. Defending senior league champions Holmwood Technical out of Christiana Manchester and the clarendon based Denbigh high School retained their respective under 19 and under 16 titles.

The Under 19 final brought together the same pair from last year’s final, in a keenly contested match which saw the Carlene Graham-Powell coached girls, turning on the afterburner in the third and fourth quarter of the game to secure the trophy with 36-29.win and the ninth title in ten years.. The victory was lead by their ace shooter who shot 34 from 42 attempts.

The Under 16 finals swung in favor of the Clarendon ladies who were aiming to cop the rural double they last won in 2001, when they outplayed home team Manchester high 31- 24 to wrap up the junior title.

Both winners will now go on to meet the respective winners of the Urban titles this Friday for the respective all island crowns.

In the third place playoff Titchfield defeated Bellfield 30-29 in overtime in the Junior match up while In the Seniors, Herbert Morrison won over Knox College 23-19.

The Urban final, is slated for Thursday at St Andrew High School.
